Study Hall

Study hall takes place 7:30pm to 9:30 pm Monday through Thursday. There are four (3)study hall formats - Structured, In-Dorm, and Senior. Study hall assignments are reviewed each time grades are posted. There is a short break after the first hour. All sessions are supervised by a faculty member.

In-Dorm Study Hall:  Students work on academic course work at their desk and remain in their own rooms, except during the break. Dorm parents may approve group work when requested. All doors remain open to allow for proper supervision by the dorm parent.

Senior Study Hall:  Seniors who have earned Merit or Honors status and are in good disciplinary standing have earned the right to sign-out with the dorm parent on duty to go to the Hallock Student Union during study hall.  Seniors may study, relax, use the game room, or quietly watch television. If a senior’s grades begin to fall, he or she may be asked to return to In-Dorm or Monitored Study Hall.

Structured:
Students who receive an F or two or D’s are assigned to Structured Study Hall. Advisors and parents may also request that a student be placed in Structured Study Hall if grades appear to be slipping.

Library Computer Lab:  Students who wish to work in the library during evening study hall must obtain a pass before study hall from the teacher on whose assignment they are working.
