INQUIRE: The first and important step in the admission process. Please complete the inquiry form located here. If you prefer, please do not hesitate to call us, as we are happy to learn all about you through a conversation. Once we receive your inquiry, we will begin the communication process with an information packet, an email, and a call from one of our admission team members.
Join us for a Tuesday at 7 campus tour and info session! Every Tuesday evening at 7:00, an admission officer will be on campus to greet you for an informal visit and introduction to the West Nottingham Way. While an RSVP is not required, we like to be prepared for your arrival. Contact us: email@example.com or 410 658 9279.
APPLY: We'll need to see three recommendations from your current school, as well as current grades, any available testing, and a transcript (an unofficial grade report is fine to begin with, but we'll need a formal, original copy of your transcript once you enroll.) As soon as your admission file is complete, the Admission Committee will render a decision. For those students using the traditional application dates, if we receive your completed application by February 10th, you can look forward to receiving a soft admission decision prior to March 10th. Applications received after February 10th will be processed, but will be considered on a space-available basis. Notification for day student applicants will be made (if file is complete) on February 20th. While we prefer all applications to be completed online through our system, we also accept the TABS or SSATB Common Applications. The non-refundable application fee can be paid by credit card or by check mailed to the admission office.
Please note the fax number for the admission office: 866.381.3684
SCHEDULE A CAMPUS VISIT OR SKYPE INTERVIEW: We welcome you to campus! Contact the admission team by phone or email to secure a campus visit (interviews are scheduled school days, Monday - Friday at either 9:00 AM or 1:00 PM). Prepare to spend close to 3 hours on campus, as you will be meeting students, faculty, and administrators during your time with us. Additionally, you will have a student-led tour of campus and an interview with the admission team. If a campus visit is not possible, please call or email to arrange for a SKYPE interview.
STUDENT SHADOW DAY: Once we have received an inquiry or application, prospective students have the option of sitting in on classes. Hosted by a member of our student ambassador team, shadowing is an opportunity for applicants to meet faculty, eat in the dining hall, and become more familiar with our school by experiencing a day at WNA!
REGISTER FOR THE SSAT: We recommend that students take the SSAT (www.ssat.org). Please remember to have your scores sent directly to West Nottingham Academy (School Code 8146). During the 2016-17 academic year, the SSAT test will be administrated on the West Nottingham Academy campus during the following dates:
CHESAPEAKE LEARNING CENTER: Many families have a keen interest in taking advantage of our renowned learning support program. All applicants to this program should submit the most recent educational testing along with your application.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: All students whose primary language is not English, or who plan to enroll in our ESL program, are asked to take the TOEFL, TOEFL, Jr., SLATE, or the SSAT.
ADMISSION DECISION: Once all of the above items are complete, the application is finished and we can move forward with the decision process. Our admission team makes decisions based on the application, previous school records, testing, the interview, the teacher recommendations, and the overall fit for WNA.
CUSTOMIZED TUITION: Some domestic families may choose to apply for financial aid and a customized tuition package. WNA offers traditional need-based financial aid. Domestic candidates must complete an application through the National Association of Independent Schools - (www.sss.nais.org). International families should contact the admission office to receive details on how to apply for tuition assistance.
