International Student Admission
We are so pleased that you are interested in West Nottingham Academy, the oldest boarding school in America. With many choices here in the United States and abroad, few can offer the level of individualized attention which WNA has provided for so many years. We believe that stronger language aquisition comes from greater attention to each student and a commitment from the entire school community to encourage development of those skills throughout the day. Our English as a Second Language program supplements our curriculum.
Please take time to learn more about our school. Inquire and apply right here on our website or, if you prefer, via the SSATB or TABS common applications. We encourage you to contact the admission office at anytime with your questions.
We are a small, boarding and day school for 130 students in grades 9-12 located one hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore and 90 minutes from Washington D.C. Founded in 1744, West Nottingham is the oldest boarding school in America with two signers of the Declaration of Independence counted among its earliest students.
Because we are a smaller school, your son or daughter will study at a school where they will receive far greater individual attention and feel safe and comfortable living and learning in preparation for success in a competitive college or university. At West Nottingham Academy, the "oldest boarding school in America," you will find excellent teachers, formal preparation for American college admission exams, a balance of student autonomy (to foster independence and self-confidence), supervision, guidance, and support for students studying the English language. Personal and social development complement our focus on the whole child.
The admission decision is based on grades, test scores, recommendations, and an interview.

WHEN DO I RECEIVE AN I-20?
Signed I-20s are issued to each new student after we receive a signed enrollment contract and non-refundable deposit. US Immigration requires that we also receive verification that the family is able to pay school tuition and fees. The I-20 is sent by DHL, and we will provide a tracking number.
