Activities and Weekends
Every day at West Nottingham students participate in a variety of activities - examining concepts in the classroom, competing in athletics, and developing life-long connections with friends, faculty, and staff.
A sense of community is at the heart of life at WNA. If you feel a sense of belonging and safety, you're more likely to thrive and make a positive contribution. All programs and events reinforce that feeling. Live bands, movies in Helena Hall, talent shows, Xbox and table tennis tournaments are just some of the activities you'll find here.
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
Students have many ways to get involved, including:
- Student Government
- Nottingham Players - Drama Club
- Music Club
- Film Club
- Model UN
This is just a sampling of what you can do here. Don't see your club? Time to start one. We'll help make it happen!
Because we are located within one hour of Baltimore and Philadelphia, there is so much to take advantage of on the weekends!. Catch a film, visit an art gallery, go shopping or hang out with friends - every weekend offers time to relax and have some fun.
Just about every weekend opportunitites for Service Learning are available to the entire student body. At West Nottingham, giving back to the the community is at the top of the list! Students are required to complete a minimum of 15 hours of Service Learning - just about every student surpasses that level and continues to engage in volunteer opportunities for the remainder of the school year, and well into the summer.
West Nottingham also offers a Culture Credit program. Each student attends two culturally enriching events per trimester, experiencing music, history, art and theater - something new. Past activities include trips to Lancaster Symphony, the Smithsonian, Walters Art Museum, Holocaust Museum, and more. After the event, students compose a written report which is then credited to their English grade.
