Baseball at WNA!

At West Nottingham Academy, baseball history traces all the back to 1892! More recently, the program enjoyed multiple SAIC League Championships, and a 14 year League Championship winning streak. Two WNA alumni: Harry Anderson and Roger McCardell played professional baseball.

Competitive baseball returns to WNA in the spring of 2016. With beautiful and well-kept athletic fields (including Lyall Field) all students - whether experienced or new to the game - will have a chance to participate. Students will soon know just how good it is to be an active part of a team.

Leading the program is Coach Brandon Gilcher '96, an experienced and highly regarded coach in Cecil County, Maryland. Coach Gilcher had an illustrious career during his time as a student at West Nottingham Academy. As a player, Mr. Gilcher was named 1995 Maryland State Little League Tournament MVP. He later played catcher for the Susquehanna Semi-Pro League and earned a tryout with the Florida Marlins farm system. In 2014, Coach Gilcher led an 11 year old Little League team to the state championship.
