When you're ready to start the application process, follow the steps below.  Questions?  Please contact the Admission Office.

  • Step 1: Inquire

    Please fill out our online inquiry form to start the admission process. Tell us how you heard about our school, your academic and extra-curricular interests, and any questions that you may have so that we can get a sense of who you are and how to share West Nottingham with you. After completing the inquiry form, you will hear from a member of the admission team.
  • Step 2: Schedule a Visit or Interview

    Come visit us on campus to take a tour with one of our student ambassadors, meet with a few teachers and administrators, and complete your admission interview.  You can expect a campus visit to last about an hour and a half.  Visits are offered Tuesday-Friday at 8:45 a.m. and Monday-Thursday at 12:45 p.m.  You are also welcome to attend one of our admission events to get a sense of life on campus.
  • Step 3: Apply

    You can begin the application process by either completing the SAO (link on the right side of this page) which we prefer, or filling out the application form and submitting the $75 application fee ($150 for international students).  After completing the application form, you can log back into your admission portal to complete and upload the following items:

    • student questionnaire, to tell us a little more about your interests.
    • Three recommendation forms, one each from a math teacher, an English teacher, and a school administrator.  To send these forms to your teachers, log into your admission portal and enter your teacher’s name and email address.  The forms will come back to us automatically once they are complete!
    • transcript or recent grade report.
    • An SSAT score report (our school code is 8146) or Character Snapshot (optional).
    • A school records release form, which allows the current school to send items such as standardized testing, discipline/attendance records, and report cards, to West Nottingham.
    • An interview with a member of our admission team.  Please call or email a member of the admission team to schedule your campus visit!  Skype interviews are available for international students. 
    You can log back into your admission portal at any time to complete any items or to check the status of your application.

    Please note that we will also accept the SSAT common application, the SAO. 

    Students applying to the Chesapeake Learning Center should upload or email any psychoeducational testing that has been done.  Please contact the Admission Office for more information.

    International students should plan to submit a DuoLingo (preferred), TOEFL, SSAT (our school code is 8146), iTEP, IELTS score report. One type of English proficiency exam is required as part of the admission process.

    The Duolingo English Test can be taken online at any time. It is a fast and inexpensive alternative to other options  it takes approximately 45 minutes and costs $49.  The exam uses computer-adaptive technology, meaning that the questions will automatically adapt to each test taker’s ability, generating a different set of questions for every session. It also integrates a video interview and writing sample.  The exam requires a supported browser and your computer's self-facing camera and microphone. The testing session is recorded and verified by a Duolingo proctor, and the results are available within 48 hours.
  • Step 4: Deadlines and Notifications

    Applications, including all supporting application materials, are due to the Admission Office by Feb. 10, 2020.  Decisions will be sent via email by March 10, 2020. 

    Applications for financial aid are due by Jan. 31, 2020.  Financial aid awards will be sent along with admission decisions on March 10. 
    Applications for admission and financial aid received after the above-noted deadlines will be considered on a rolling basis. Please contact the Admission Office to initiate the process or with any questions.
