Middle School Workshops

We welcome 6th through 8th grade grade students to join us for an upcoming middle school workshop!

These workshops give students the opportunity to learn from and work with Academy faculty members in a number of disciplines, including art, science, and sustainability. All supplies are provided, and students will eat in our Frank D. Brown Dining Hall for lunch or dinner (depending on workshop time). Participation is free, but advance registration is required (form below).  Upcoming workhops include:

Sunday, Oct. 13, Girl Powered VEX, 3:30 p.m.
In partnership with Maryland STEM and VEX Robotics, West Nottingham is excited to host a Girl Powered VEX workshop. Science and technology workshops, hosted by West Nottingham's STEM faculty in the Innovation Center, will cover topics in robotics, chemistry, and physics. This workshop follows the Admission Open House for students interested in attending both events.

Saturday, Nov. 2, Art Workshop, 10 a.m.
Join us to create your own masterpiece with our current artist-in-residence. During the art workshop, students will work with James to create their very own masterpiece that can be taken home at the end of the workshop. Participants in the art workshop will also have a chance to visit the artist-in-residence studio to see some of work in progress.

Sunday, Nov. 10, STEM Workshop, 3:30 p.m.
Science and technology workshops, hosted by West Nottingham's STEM faculty in the Innovation Center, will cover topics in robotics, chemistry, and physics. This workshop follows the Admission Open House for students interested in attending both events.

TBD, Sustainability Workshop
Middle school students can also learn from the director of sustainability programs and the school's student-led Green Team to learn more about our current sustainability initiatives, conservation efforts on our campus, and our local partnership with Kilby Farm.
