Message from the Head of School
Character development, college preparation, and a wealth of co-curricular opportunities on a safe and picturesque 100-acre campus are what West Nottingham Academy families treasure!
During my first visit to West Nottingham, my immediate impression was one of purposeful balance and respect for tradition. They are both accurate descriptions of the academic and social atmosphere on campus, which is located among the cultural hubs in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Baltimore. This environment provides many student opportunities beyond academics, including fine and performing arts, sporting events, and exposure to some of the nation’s best universities.
Campus life provides students with a wealth of options, including athletics opportunities and other co-curricular activities. The social scene is always active and students help plan events, such as campus movies, dances at the Old Academy, bonfires with music, or the long-standing Spartans and Athenians competitions.
Completing the balance is a challenging, yet supportive academic program. A positive peer culture, promoted by a committed faculty, encourages growth and results in academic skills and the self-confidence needed to succeed in college and beyond.
As head of school, I am honored to lead this talented and engaged community of learners – students, faculty, and staff. The level of excitement here on campus is similar to an entrepreneurial spirit, committed to building a progressive and student-centered program that is engaging and fun. Faculty value their relationships with our students, knowing individual strengths, interests, and needs, and our students reap the benefits of this individualized attention.
Whether looking for a day or boarding school, I encourage you to explore our website, review the testimonials, and schedule a visit during which you and your student can experience our beautiful campus and inclusive community.
