Student Life

Beyond the Classroom

Going to class, taking time to study, joining co-curricular activites and clubs, and managing a busy social life -- it is all in the life of a student at West Nottingham Academy!  School days at WNA are busy and students quickly learn how important it is to manage their time and create healthy habits and routines.

Students plan and participate in campus-wide events as grades.  Each grade organizes a social event, a fundraiser, and a service learning project, assisted by designated faculty advisors.  This can include dances, and seasonal and community events.

There are also many clubs on campus, and students are encouraged to find one that relates to their own interests.  If one doesn't exist, students can create their own club!  Clubs are student-organized, so they may change from year to year, but some of the current club offerings include:

  • Student Government Association
  • Model United Nations
  • Short Film Club
  • Ping Pong Club
  • Anime Club
Students in dormitories on campus experience an additional element of student life through dorm programming and communal living.  Our four residence halls -- girls in East and Rowland, boys in Rush and Heiney -- perfectly prepare students for the realities of college life.  Living with a roomate, sharing in community decisions, and managing day-to-day social interactions are all part of living in one of our dorms.

Each dormitory is equipped with the essential creature comforts: a student lounge, kitchenette, washers and dryers, a flat-screen television, and internet access.  It is the students who play the biggest role in creating residence hall culture, so it's essential to engage in dorm activities from the start.  Student leaders, called prefects, live on dorm and are available to help new students navigate the transition and assist dorm parents in maintaining a safe, healthy, and fun dorm environment.  Additionally, all dormitories include faculty residences for full-time dorm parents.
