Who Are We?
West Nottingham Academy is a boarding and day private school in Colora, Maryland. We are a diverse community of young scholars and social activists who are eager to help the community around us.
What is the West Nottingham Cancer Research 5K?
The 5K is a student-organized community event at Kilby Dairy Farm benefiting Ryan’s Birthday Party Foundation, Inc. The event includes a costume run, activities, and games for participants of all ages and anyone who is willing to support our cause.
Why did we decide to do this?
The school community was moved by Mrs. Casteel’s story
about the establishment of Ryan’s Birthday Party Foundation, Inc., an organization that provides costumes to children during their fight with cancer. Many students came together and formed various committees responsible for specific tasks for the event. We are passionate about helping Ms. Casteel’s charity and engaging our local community.
How can you help?
An essential part of allowing this event to happen, and supporting the lives of numerous families and children who experience the challenges of living with cancer, is your financial support. We are looking for generous donors eager to help families, children, and their local community.
