American Language Academy

American Language Academy at West Nottingham Academy offers students aged 12 to 18 the opportunity to experience teenage life in America and improve their English language skills. Weekdays will feature time in English classes, with a focus on reading, writing, speaking, listening, and grammar. Students will also have a variety of electives to choose from, including innovation and design, art, TOEFL prep, and American culture. The program also includes visits to two local universities to explore life as an American college student and learn about the college search and admission process.

The program also includes scheduled evening and weekend activities.  Students will participate in scheduled evening and after-school activities both on and off campus. Off campus opportunities include movies, the pool, mini-golf, professional baseball and soccer games, and local festivals, gardens, and theater productions. On campus events feature soccer and ping-pong tournaments, arts and crafts, bonfire and s’mores, board games, and more. On the weekends, trips to area attractions and local cities, including Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and popular beaches, will be offered. Weekends will also feature trips to local malls, water parks, and sporting events.

Please note that a $500 deposit is required when registering for American Language Academy 2019.  The full cost of the program is $4,200.  WNA students may also opt to stay on campus the week between ALA and the start of school for an additional fee of $650.  Click here to register.  If you have already registered and need to pay your remaining balance, please click here.
